Elytra Combat Anticheat for Factions and SMP
How elytra aim lock, snap-to-target, firework timing, no-look hits, and pursuit checks help protect flight combat.
What server owners should know
Elytra combat creates different abuse patterns from ground PvP. Owners should review aim lock, snap rotations, firework timing, pursuit behavior, no-look hits, motion locks, and critical abuse while gliding.
The best decision starts with the server's real abuse pattern: combat pressure, scaffold pressure, inventory automation, FastBreak, AutoTotem, Elytra, packet abuse, or staff workflow overload.
Where FairPlay fits
FairPlay includes 13 Elytra checks covering aim lock, auto firework, center-mass lock, criticals, firework-hit delay, follow, hit sync, motion lock, no-look hit, overrun, prediction, rotation consistency, and snap-to-target.
Server owners should start with alerts and debug review, then enable mitigation and punishment tiers only after the checks match their server version, knockback, plugins, ping profile, and staff policy.
Recommended rollout
Install PacketEvents first, confirm FairPlay starts cleanly, enable staff notifications, review hover/debug values, tune noisy checks, and separate high-confidence enforcement from observation-only checks.
For production networks, keep documentation for staff decisions: check name, timestamp, player ping, measured values, mitigation action, and whether an optional hook contributed context.
Elytra checks are not flight simulation
FairPlay includes Elytra combat checks and configurable Elytra mitigations. These checks focus on combat behavior while flying; use a movement anticheat if you need general fly or speed detection.
Test Elytra combat with your server’s flight plugins and settings before enabling mitigation. Review alerts from the exact server setup you plan to use.
FAQ
Should this be enabled with instant bans?
Most servers should begin with alerts and mitigation, then enable automatic punishments only after production tuning and staff review.
