AutoClicker CPS Detection Without Punishing Legit Players
How CPS limits, click intervals, skewness, outliers, phase locks, and ML windows help review autoclickers.
Why CPS caps alone misfire
Clicks-per-second is a single summary number. Legitimate players can burst, butterfly-click, jitter-click, or vary with hardware, while autoclickers can randomize their rate to sit below a cap. A threshold on CPS therefore catches skilled humans and misses careful macros at the same time.
Interval analysis looks instead at the pattern between clicks: stability, distinct delay counts, skewness, phase behavior, outliers, and hit-versus-miss consistency. Patterns carry more information than peaks.
Jitter versus macro: reading interval caveats
Human clicking shows organic variation that shifts with fatigue, grip, and fight pressure. Macro clicking shows statistical regularity even when randomized, such as repeated delay values, locked phases, or unnaturally clean distributions over long windows.
Caveats apply both ways. Short samples exaggerate regularity, lag distorts intervals, and some devices produce unusually steady input. Never judge a player on one short window or on CPS without its interval context.
Keep human review before punishment
Route click flags to staff review with the interval evidence attached: window length, delay distribution notes, and latency context. Reserve automatic actions for long, corroborated windows defined in the server's own policy, and keep the disagreement path open through appeals with preserved evidence.
FairPlay includes AutoClicker checks and machine-learning workflows. Review click-pattern alerts with staff context before changing thresholds or enabling punishment.
FAQ
What CPS should we ban at?
No universal number is given here. Set thresholds from the server's own staged observations across devices and latency profiles, and keep them under review.
How do reviewers tell jitter from a macro?
By reading interval distributions over long windows with latency context, not by peaks. Regularity across changing fight pressure points toward automation; shifting organic variation points toward a human.
